WWE Superstars visit New York City firefighters and police officers during SummerSlam 2015 Week

NEW YORK – Before they take to the ring on Sunday for The Biggest Party of the Summer, WWE Superstars are taking time to give back to New York City. Roman Reigns, The Usos, The New Day and Summer Rae spent the Thursday of SummerSlam 2015 Week touring around The Big Apple in a double decker bus, stopping at several firehouses and police precincts to visit with New York City's finest and bravest.

"We're taking the time to celebrate the real heroes of our world," Reigns told WWE.com. "Some of the most courageous people in the biggest city in the world."
There were plenty of smiles all around as the Superstars chatted with officers and firefighters at the NYPD 19th Precinct and FDNY's Engine 39/Ladder 60 on the Upper East Side, and Engine 219/Ladder 105 in Brooklyn, among others. The Superstars even got to try on what the firefighters wear when they combat a blaze.
“It’s been a very humbling day,” Xavier Woods of The New Day said. “What we do is fun, good entertainment, but to meet people that are really out there doing things is awesome. They’re willing to give their lives to keep the rest of us safe. It’s very hard to put into words how much that really means to all of us.”
The Superstars also heard stories of those who lost their lives on Sept. 11.
“To actually hear specific stories and see the faces of the fallen, you see how proud their fellow firemen of them,” Summer Rae said. “They were extremely brave.”
The visits are just part of how WWE is giving back to police officers, firefighters and their families during SummerSlam. WWE has joined forces with celebrities and pro athletes for a global online auction featuring one-of-a-kind experiences. The auction is benefitting Answer The Call, which supports the New York Police and Fire Widows and Children’s Fund.
